Tour Highlights
This exciting itinerary gives you the best of the diversity and beauty of Colombia. We will visit the most romantic colonial town, Jurassic jungle and beaches of the Caribbean coast, cool coffee country, and meet the most hospitable/beautiful people in the world. The tour will start in Cartagena and end in Bogota.
Cartagena – 2 days
Wander through this historic walled city with its atmospheric narrow lanes, beautiful colonial houses, and colourful balconies
Visit the interesting Palacio de Inquisicion and the Gold Museum
Scale the Castillo de San Felipe for a vintage view of Cartagena and the Caribbean sea
Sit at the wall watching the sun sets over the Caribbean sea
Hang out with locals in the plaza in the laid back neighbourhood of Getsemani
Parque Tayrona – 2 days
Relax and sunbathe in white sandy beaches fringed with coconut trees
Swim and refresh in the turquoise Caribbean sea
Hike to the lost village of El Pueblito
Sleep in hammock/tent by the beach
Medellin – 4 days
Let your heart be charmed by this modern city with a thriving soul; once dubbed the most dangerous in the world
Witness the legacy that Pablo Escobar left behind
Be mesmerized by the incredible sculptures of Fernando Botero
Take the cable car to visit the infamous comuna (shanty town)
Visit quaint and pretty colonial towns in the outskirt of the city
Party with locals and learn to dance the merengue and salsa
Salento – 2 days
Hike through the Valle de Cocora dotted with 60m high waxed palms
Visit organic coffee fincas (estates) and see how coffee is made
Hang out at various charming cafes and drink coffee with local men/women
Stay in and relax in a cozy hostel set in a farm with breathtaking view
Experience milking cows
Villa de Leyva – 2 days
Be charmed by this picturesque village
Study the white Spanish buildings with Moorish balconies
Let the stories of Gabriel Garcia Marquez come alive as you wander its cobblestone streets
Bogota – 2 days
Wander around the atmospheric old quarter of La Candelaria
Drop in at the interesting Casa de Moneda
Chill out at the bohemian neighbourhood of La Macarena
Visit the biggest underground Salt Cathedral

*Option to extend the tour to the ancient burial site of San Agustin and the opportunity to experience Jagé/Ayahuasca in a remote village.

What’s included in the cost?
· All ground transportation
· All accommodation (dorm beds in hostels, guesthouses, tents/hammocks)
· Admission to all included attractions and sights
· At least one meal per day

* $200 Non-refundable deposit required to secure place on tour
* Remainder of tour fee ($1,399) due by November 11th.
* Full refund -$200 before December 11th, 2014
* 50% refund before December 25th, 2014
* No refund after December 25th, 2014
Additional expenses:
You’ll be responsible for some meals. Budget between $3-8 per meal.
You will also be responsible for booking your airfare to/from Colombia. (Arriving in Cartagena. Departing from Bogota)
