A casino, or gambling house, is an establishment for certain types of gambling. Casinos are often combined with hotels, restaurants, retail shops, and other tourist attractions. Some casinos are known for hosting celebrity entertainment events, such as concerts and stand-up comedy. Others are known for their luxurious settings and facilities, such as the Bellagio in Las Vegas, or the Ch\u00e2teau de Monte-Carlo in Monaco.<\/p>\n
There are three general categories of casino games: gaming machines, table games, and random number games. Gaming machines are operated by computerized or mechanical devices and typically pay out winnings based on the selection of random numbers. Table games, such as blackjack and craps, involve one or more players competing against the house and are conducted by croupiers.
